Panel Discussion on "Women Entrepreneurial Journey - Challenges & Success"

The Student Innovation Club (SIC) & Nursing Education Unit (NEU), Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences in collaboration with the Staff Development Centre, NitteDU organized a panel discussion on `Women Entrepreneurial Journey - Challenges & Success' on 2nd August 2021. The event was held online.
Prof. Dr. Fatima D`silva, Principal NUINS introduced the distinguished panel and delivered the welcome address. Prof. Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice-Chancellor NitteDU inaugurated the event and in his opening remarks appreciated the significant contribution of women entrepreneurs towards the growth of economy and their serious efforts for the betterment of society.
Prof. Dr. Alka Kulkarni, Registrar, NitteDU was the guest of honor. She appreciated the women entrepreneurs and congratulated them for being successful by braving the challenges in their entrepreneurial journey with grit and determination. Prof Dr. G. Srinikethan, President, Institution Innovation Council, NitteDU was present. Prof. Dr. Jacintha Veigas, Programme Coordinator & Coordinator-SIC, NUINS moderated the session. Mrs. Vathika Pai, Prop. Vathika International Travels Mangalore; Ms Tanuja Maben, Director Forrader Akademi, Manipal; Mrs. Reshma Sayed, Managing Partner, Themes Boutique, Udupi; Ms. Anusha Shetty, Founder, Prop. & Head Baker - Dolce Desserts, Manipal were the eminent Panellists. The panel members discussed about their entrepreneurship journey, shared crucial information about the market research they had carried out to perceive the right problem, elaborated on process development and B-Plan, recalled the enormous challenges they faced and the accolades they received, and also shared their future potential growth plans. The panel also answered a few questions of the participants towards the end of the session. Mr. Sukesh Shetty, Staff Advisor SIC, NUINS proposed the vote of thanks. The panel discussion helped the participants to have an insight into potential areas of entrepreneurship, its need and the process involved in setting up an enterprise. It also created awareness on various challenges in an entrepreneurial journey. The participants shared excellent feedback about the program.
