The College has well-equipped laboratories for practical training prior to hospital posting. Besides this, students are also exposed to community outreach programs at rural, urban and primary health centres at Natekal, Nitte and Jeppinamogaru, which are attached to the college.
The Institute has an extensive library with over 4,000 books. The college subscribes to 29 Indian journals, 11 foreign journals and has access to 1,086 e-journals through CINHAL and the Helinet. Besides, each department has a library and e-books to which students and faculty have easy access. The library is fully digitalised with open access system, reprographic facilities and the internet and is open to the students from 8 am to 6.30 pm. The campus has a leased line internet connectivity.
A Research Cell has been established in the College comprising of senior PG faculty members and external experts as members. Ongoing projects are carried out by undergraduate and postgraduate students under the guidance of the senior faculty. Annually, 7 research projects are taken up by the IV year B.Sc students.
The College conducts Continuing Nursing Education programs, journal clubs and workshops to upgrade the teaching faculty. They are encouraged to participate and present papers at national and international workshops and seminars.
Students are provided with adequate facilities for sports and opportunities to participate in intercollegiate and inter-university levels.
Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences is a unit of the Red Cross and the NSS and has a Red Ribbon Club. Extension activities are carried out regularly by the staff and students.
A number of opportunities are provided for the students to develop their skills and talents at various levels. Students are encouraged to take part in various competitions at the intercollegiate, state and national levels as well as scientific exhibitions so as to promote and bring out leadership qualities in them.
Staff and students are provided with transportation to, commute to the college and the various clinics.
All students are covered under the Medicare scheme, which entitles them to free medical and dental treatment at the KS Hegde Hospital.
The campus has a spacious cafeteria to cater to the needs of the staff and students.
